Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is consistently listed in the top ten most crowded airports within the U.S and around the world. Visitors from all over the world travel through LAX as they travel to or from distant destinations.
How to Travel there
The airport is situated about 5 miles away from Manhattan Beach, 9 miles from Santa Monica, 13 miles from Beverly Hills, 14 miles from Hollywood, and 17 miles from downtown LA. You can also take the shuttle from San Diego to LAX. There are a variety of ways to reach LAX however, some transport alternatives are better than others.
The most affordable alternative is to use public transportation or scheduled bus services, but it’s not the most convenient option. If you’d like to pick up your luggage from the curb, you’ll have to make an appointment for a Los Angeles luxury car service. Travelers may also make use of Uber, Lyft, or other ride-hailing services to get out of LAX and then transfer to the pick-up location.
Public transport
Although LA’s public transportation system isn’t perfect (though it’s getting better). You can take a transfer to Lot South/LAX City Bus Center, and take a bus. There’s an additional shuttle bus that can connect to LAX with Metro Green Line. Metro Green Line. This Green Line connects to both the Metro Silver Line bus and the Metro Silver Line bus and the Metro Blue Line light rail that will take people to 7th Street, which is the station in downtown’s Metro Center.
You can also take the Fly Away shuttle bus that runs from LAX up to Union Station (downtown LA) or Van Nuys for $8 to $9.75 one-way. The buses pick up passengers and drop them off right at the entrance to the terminals
Ride-shares
The majority of ride-hailing pick-ups are in the “LAX-it” lot, a designated pick-up area that is located next to Terminal 1. Terminal 1.
