9 Fascinating Thai Cultural Gems to Explore

Thailand is a country that really stands out in Southeast Asia and always attracts a lot of curious travellers.  Thailand is well known for various reasons, one of which is her fascinating culture and abundance of intriguing temples, palaces and residences. Check out these gems;

Lop Buri – Famous for the intricate shrines in the Khmer style, tourists flock to Lop Buri to see the remains of the King that ruled in the 17th century. Don’t forget to bring your camera as this is certainly a beautiful spot.

Phetchaburi – This spot has a whole host of tourist attractions that has contributed to Thailand’s sheer popularity. There are plenty of beaches in the area and this is perfect for those that have families that are looking to have a lot of fun with the kids. This is a family friendly spot that will also feature beautiful mountains, caves, ancient temples and other historical sites.

Chanthaburi – Chanthaburi is a province on the coast and it is famous for the various food that you can get. You will mainly have a wide abundance of fruits, hot pepper and also gemstones and Chanthaburi mats. This is certainly a beloved spot in Thailand.

Prachin Buri – This is a part of the Kaho Yai National Park and it is very famous for the Hin Phoeng Rapids. If you are in this area, this is what you need to visit.

Surin – Surin is world famous for their elephants and how it is called “the land of elephants.” This elephant round-up happens every November and is a very unique experience in Thailand.

Udon Thani – Udon Thani is famous because of the World Heritage Site. You will find beautiful rock formations and the Ban Chiang Village civilization.

Pha-ngan Island – If you are an avid diver, the Pha-ngan island is your spot in Thailand. This is a very interesting destination and will be a beautiful site to see.

Songkhla – This is a very popular resort near the sea and you can take a cruise around the Songkhla Lake. You should also visit Hat Yai as it is a very busy and enjoyable city where you will find cheap imported items.

Nakhon Si Thammarat – This National Park is famous for the Talumpuk Cape and the various views that you will see.
