Step-by-Step Guide To Outdoor Adventure

  • October 14, 2019
  • admin

If you’re a city person and you’re looking for a new adventure to break the routine, then going on a hike and camping can be some of the best solutions for you. The idea of hiking or camping in the woods can be intimidating for a lot of people, and some may think that they can’t do it. However, when you know all the essential steps to prepare for such an adventure and follow them, it could be very easy and entertaining. You don’t need to be super fit or have special skills in order to enjoy the outdoors; you will only need to choose a suitable location for you and have the required gear.

The Location

Once you decide to go hiking, the first step that you should take is to plan the hike. Having a proper plan and knowing where you’d go, how long it would take, and what you should pack, can make the adventure more comfortable and entertaining. The first thing you should plan is the place where you’ll hike. While choosing the location, keep in mind that it’s best to avoid long hikes or the ones that require too much climbing. Choosing long hikes for the first time can make it an unpleasant experience for you. And if you’re willing to go camping for a day or two, plan well and choose safe camping spots that offer access to fresh water nearby.

Estimating Time

The second step in planning your adventure is knowing how many miles your hike will be and how long it would take you to reach your destination. If you’re a beginner, it’s better to keep it around 10 miles per day. After determining the miles per day, start estimating how long it would take. This can help you know whether you should move early in the morning or in the afternoon.

The Essential Gear

Now that you know your destination, and how long it would take to get there, it’s time to choose the gear that you’ll take with you. Getting the essential gear while hiking or camping can make this adventure a lot better. There are many tools that you might think you need. However, if it’s your first time, it’s better to read outdoor gear reviews to know what tools are for advanced hikers and which ones would be suitable for you. Your personal first aid kit, food, water, and suitable hiking boots are must-haves in your bag regardless of how many times you have gone on an outdoor adventure before.

It’s also an exciting idea to experience this with your friends, in order to break the routine and enjoy nature. But if it’s the first time for you or any of your friends, then you should make sure that the spot you choose is suitable for beginners and doesn’t require a lot of climbing. You should also prepare the right clothes, shoes, and a backpack to make your adventure easier. And if you’re going to camp, then having a lightweight tent, a flashlight, and a sleeping bag is essential.
