A Guide To Planning The Most Amazing Break For You And Your Partner

  • March 4, 2016
  • admin

There’s nothing quite like getting away with your partner to spend some much-needed quality time together. Life gets busy thanks to our hectic schedules, which means that far too often we have to skimp on quality time with our partner. An excellent way to spend some one-on-one time together is by planning a romantic break. A task that, believe it or not, can be a lot trickier that you would think. It’s not just a case of choosing a destination; there’s a lot more to planning the perfect break than that.

From picking the perfect destination to planning out your itinerary, there’s a lot that goes into a weekend away. To help make the planning process a little easier for you, we’ve put together this handy guide. Packed full of tips and ideas for the ultimate romantic break, this guide should help you put together the most amazing break. Take these ideas on board and your next break with your partner is guaranteed to be a success.

Chose a time for your break

First things first, you need to choose a timescale for your break. What it’s important to think about is how long each of you can get off of work, as well as how long the travel side of things will take. If you’re heading to somewhere far away, it’s important to leave yourself enough time to enjoy your trip.

For a weekend break, it’s best to go somewhere close to home so that the amount of travel you have to do is minimal. However, if you’ve got a longer time period to be away for, then going further afield could make a nice change. It’s always refreshing to get away and go to a new place. There’s something wonderfully relaxing about being somewhere far away from home where no one knows you. There’s no stress or worry, all you have to focus on is each other.

Pick the perfect location

Once you’ve decided on your time scale for your break, the next step is to choose the perfect location. If you’ve got plenty of time, choosing somewhere abroad could be ideal. This will give you the chance to relax and get away from it all and spend some proper one-on-one time with your partner.

To get an idea of the best places to go, do some research and come up with ideas for places you’ve always wanted to visit. If the idea of somewhere in Europe appeals to you, Italy is incredibly romantic, as is the South of France. If you’re planning on staying somewhere a little closer to home, research places close enough to where you live that won’t take ages to get to. That way you’ll be able to get away from your day-to-day life, but won’t have to do too much traveling.

Get your accommodation booked

Once you’ve chosen your travel destination, be it Barcelona or Cornwall, the next step is to get your accommodation booked. As it’s a romantic break that you’re planning, it’s crucial that you choose accommodation that fits the bill. This means selecting a hotel or other form of accommodation that screams romance, after all, it is a romantic break. Think luxury bed linen, a large bath, and champagne on tap.

Look out for hotel deals online, to ensure that you get a good deal for your money. It’s also worth considering renting self-catered accommodation, as some cottages come with hot tubs. What’s more romantic than a hot tub and a glass of bubbly? Hotels aren’t always the best option, so it pays to look around.

Arrange your travel

Now that your accommodation is booked, the next step is to arrange your travel. As it’s a romantic trip, it makes sense to travel in style. That’s why, if you’re planning on traveling via plane or train, it’s a good idea to book first class. If you’re traveling by car, why not hire a driver instead of driving yourself?

If you want to make your weekend away as memorable as possible, pulling out all the stops is a must. This is especially important if it’s an anniversary or special occasion. So instead of opting for your normal mode of transport, surprise your partner with something a little more luxurious.

Research the area

The next step is to research the area to see what’s on offer. The best way to do this is to use the internet, to get a few ideas of what there is to do where you’re going. Start off by looking for restaurants and bars, and then once you’ve found a few suitable ones move onto entertainment. Google the entertainment on offer in the area, so that you can see what’s available.

For example, if you’re planning on going to Blackpool, Google ‘Blackpool Entertainment’ and see what comes up. It’s important to get an idea of what’s on offer at your chosen destination so that you can plan out your time there. It’s definitely worth researching the local restaurants and bars to see which the best ones are. A great site for finding the best restaurants and bars, as well as the best attractions is TripAdvisor, so make sure to have a browse on there.

Create an itinerary

Once you’ve completed your research, the next step is to create an itinerary for your trip. The chances are that there will be lots to see and do where you’re going. So having an itinerary will be a good way to ensure that you do everything that you want to.

Look out for any romantic activities, such as sunrise walks and beaches that could be perfect for exploring. It’s also worth looking to see if there are any theaters or concert halls where you’re going, as a night out at one of these is a great way to spend your time.

There’s a lot more to planning a romantic trip that meets the eye, and it’s important to understand that. Take the tips above on board and you can ensure that your next romantic trip is a success.
