Holi is better known as the Festival of Colours and the vibrant traditional Hindu festival is celebrated in India and Nepal and by Hindu communities across the world on 17 March 2014.
Today colour, as well as love and fun, seriously rules in this ancient festival which is marked on the Phalguna Purnima (Full Moon), which falls each year in late February/ early March. Holi essentially celebrates the triumph of good over bad and the day is a good opportunity to meet with friends and family, to play and laugh and to nurture relationships for a more harmonious future. It also signals the end of winter and the approach of spring.
So go on, get some colour in your life today – it’s either that or a pint of Guinness, as in 2014 Holi coincides with St Patricks Day – what more reason do you need to celebrate today!
