Wales is famous for its endless rolling hills of lush greenness, and it has some of the most spectacular scenery in all of the British Isles. This, of course, makes it the perfect destination to get away from it all for a little while.

Clyn Felin Fawr – Cardigan Bay
Near the gorgeous turquoise waters of the Cardigan Bay area, you can find this converted farmhouse, three storeys high, replete with its very own private driveway. Clyn Felin Fawr is a true country getaway, with its original exposed stone walls and wooden beams.
Thankfully, the lovely, olden look doesn’t mean you have to suffer from “olden” comforts – Clyn Felin Fawr offers all the mod cons and luxury items that you’ve come to expect from the best hotels; one of the bathrooms even has its own spa bath, complete with bubble jets! It’s the perfect place to wind down after a good day’s hiking.
Chantry – Portmeirion
The village of Portmeirion in Gwynedd is home to a number of beautiful cottages, such as White Horses, which was originally a fisherman’s cottage and sits directly on the quayside, and Telford’s Tower, which has a spiral staircase leading to the higher bedrooms offering great views of the piazza.
However, our favourite is the Chantry – with enough rooms to house nine people, this Grade II listed building is located at the highest point in the area, giving unparalleled views of the village and the estuary. Siabod – Snowdonia
If you are after 5* luxury, Siabod is for you! Located near the lovely seaside town of Llandudno (with traditional pier and the famous Great Orme), this barn conversion has everything you could possibly desire, from king-sized beds to wood-burning stoves.
It’s wheelchair accessible, with one bedroom on ground floor, and is close to the incredible Snowdonia National Park, and thus, of course, Mount Snowdon, the highest peak in Wales. With plenty to do, there’s no chance of running out of activities here!
